Amazon may never open any actual stores but that isn’t stopping them from trying to compete any way they can.  First they unveiled their line of AmazonBasics accessories and now they are offering same day shipping.

Now don’t think that they are going to provide this service for nothing.  If you are an Amazon Prime customer you can get the upgrade to same day shipping for only $5.99 per item.  Not an Amazon Prime customer?  The charge for the convenience goes up substantially.

Right now, the option is only available in New York City, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington D.C., Baltimore, Las Vegas, or Seattle.  Otherwise you’re going to have to wait a little extra longer.
