In July, Sharp introduced their line of LED HDTVs. Backed by their X-Gen Panel screens, they are geared to provide maximum color reproduction, while using less power. 1080p resolution is almost a given with any new release and they are available in wide array of sizes. They also boast a 2,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio which sounds a lot better than you’d ever be able to notice with your eyes.
Sharp’s first LED HDTVs are available in 32, 40, 46, and 52 inch sizes.
LC32LE700UN – 4 HDMI inputs, 120Hz picture, LED backlighting – $800 with free shipping
LC40LE700UN – 4 HDMI inputs, 120Hz picture, LED backlighting – $1,150 with free shipping
LC46LE700UN – 4 HDMI inputs, 120Hz picture, LED backlighting – $1,500 with free shipping
LC52LE700UN – 4 HDMI inputs, 120Hz picture, LED backlighting - $1,800 with free shipping
The X-Gen panel screens help the LE700 series reach some impressive results. The LC52LE700UN uses on 100 watts of power which is unheard of for a screen over 50 inches. These panels also provide 10-bit processing to help brilliantly display millions of colors. Lastly, the X-Gen panel also provides a wider aperture to allow more light to pass through the panel, resulting in higher peak brightness.
