Panasonic Says Goodbye To CRT Televisions

With the demand for flat panel televisions on the rise, Panasonic had to make a decision.  It had to decide if it makes more sense to continue investing with tube televisions or to ditch them and pursue flat panel LCD and plasma production.

Panasonic decided to cease CRT production which brings an end to an era.  For over 55 years Panasonic has been making CRT televisions.

This decisions is a sign of the times.  Companies have to make decisions which will allow them to not only stay open but to also make a profit.  With televisions already being a low margin product category, trying to produce older technology sets would be even more complicated.
