The Samsung pebble shaped remote serves a few purposes.  It will turn your television on, it will turn your television on, it will control volume and power.  That’s it.  As remote controls get more and more complex trying to be everything at once this accessory is a success as being what other fail at; being simple…and pretty.

You’ll still get a full sized remote control when you purchase Samsung LED HDTVs, but this one comes along for the ride.

There are two distinct part number for these remote controls.  The first is BN59-00788B, while the second is BN59-00802A.

Do Not Spend $80 For A RocketFish HDMI Cable!!

I need you to make me a promise, okay?  No.  I really mean it.  There is no way in good conscience I can recommend that you pay $80 for this RocketFish HDMI cable.

It is 8 feet long which is 2 feet longer than most HDMI cables.  It also has a great color scheme and I’m sure it comes in a pretty package, but none of those are good reasons to do it.

With the Holiday season and Black Friday fast approaching you’ll end up with a lot of gadgets you’ll be able to connect into each other and before you decide to splurge and spend almost $100 dollars. I’d like to recommend this HDMI cable from Amazon.com. 

 They’ll ship it on out to you for less than $20 and you can use the other $60 to buy an Xbox 360 game or maybe get something to eat with your family at Ruby Tuesdays.

HTPC Battle: Acer Aspire X1200 vs ASRock ION 330

Ultimate HTPC BattleWith the increased use of the web as a gateway to video content, more and more people are turning to Home Theater Portable Computers (HTPCs) as a way of centralizing their viewing experience.  The idea is that by using an HDMI input from the computer to the HDTV you’re able to take the web and make it bigger.  This will take you from watching Hulu, TV.com, YouTube, or Netflix video on your laptop to being able to do it with the whole family from your livingroom.
