HDTV Beat is about one thing — honestly and brutally covering the HDTVs and the TV industry.  Manufacturers tell lies, misdirect, and discount all in the name of pushing more product.  This site will keep them honest.  If there’s a sale you need to know about, we’ll be covering it.  If there’s a hot new HDTV which was just announced you can find more about it here.

I looked around to desperately find a site where I could sink myself in and get a good sense about everything going on in the TV world and I was disappointed.  Some sites would give some information, but leave a lot of the story out.  Some sites were full of spam and every other word as a link to this site or that site hoping I’d buy something instead of giving good content.  HDTV Beat’s goal is to reverse that trend.

This site has one rule, which is to have fun while geeking out over all of the upcoming changes to HDTVs.  Growing up I had a black and white 19 inch television.  I loved it and no matter what televisions I owned, I never forgot where my love of televisions and other gadgets came from.  I wanted to know how it worked, how to take it apart, put it together and where it would all go from here. 

There have been lots of changes and there will be even more to come.  I welcome you to join this ride and the excitement.
